Product Info

Xiejin 斜襟 (diagonal collar) and Duijin 对襟 (parallel panel) variations of a Ming Dynasty classic: Changshan 长衫. 

The Changshan 长衫 (long shirt) was most popular from the middle to late Ming Dynasty, the extra long silhouette and sleeves were in line with the dramatic aesthetics of the time. Choose from a variety of traditional colorways, then choose from your favorite collar design. 

Both collar styles are great for layering beneath other Ming outerwear such as Pifeng or Bijia! Or wear as-is for a casual and breezy ensemble. Features contrast lining along the collar, cuffs, and hem. Combined with historically accurate Zimukou 子母扣 (mother child buttons), quick and easy metallic clasps that interlock! 

Light fabric, slightly transparent fabric which was a popular trend at the time. Ladies would show off their ornately embroidered Zhuyao 主腰 (undergarment) beneath their sheer silk tops; can't say we blame the ladies - it's quite a fashionable look!

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a flat surface or hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. For ironing, please use lowest heat setting or steam out the wrinkles
