A traditional brocaded Mamian Qun 马面裙 (horse faced skirt) from the great Ming Dynasty!

The horse faced skirt gets its name from its construction, similar to old war forts that were also called Mamian 马面 (horse face). The name stuck around due to its ease to wear while horseback riding. 

The construction of the mamian qun 马面裙 contains 2 large front and back panels showcasing the art on the skirt, and many trapezoidal pleats on the sides. This creates a very flattering A-line silhouette without needing any petticoat!

Features woven brocades of various treasures such as gourds, fountains, twin fish, and flowers, inspired by classic historical Chinese artifacts.

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a flat surface or hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. Please iron using lowest heat settings or steam out wrinkles.
