If you're a fan of vintage Hong Kong kungfu films, you'll definitely recognize this classic garment: the Changpao 长袍 (long robe), also called Changshan 长衫 (long shirt).

High mandarin collar, cross body closure with traditional frog buttons, and iconic side slits for ultimate mobility - this garment is not only effortlessly stylish, but a sophisticated garment with rich history behind it.

Much like the qipao, the Changshan 长衫 originates from Manchurian garments after the fall of Han-ruled dynasties (AKA bye-bye hanfu).

Manchurian garments naturally became the norm throughout the Qing Dynasty, then enter the Republican Era where East meets West - bringing us hybrid garments much like these. Pinstripe fabric adds an official aura to this robe, perfect for mixing vintage and daily wear. 

Double layered for better draping, white contrast fabric around the cuffs and collar for a cohesive look. Hand-made garment.

The Shang Ren 商人 Businessman Changshan Robe is suitable for both literati and martial artists.
