Product Info

A stunning and simple Mamian 马面裙 (horse face skirt) from the Ming Dynasty in a stunning turquoise green color. Woven with golden patterns of flowers along the bottom trim and even along the skirt ties! 

These horse face skirts were worn by women of all social classes during 18th century China, often pairing them with a variety of Ming tops and outerwear. However, feel free to match these versatile skirts with your favorite sweater! These pair great with modern garments as well. 

Features two large front and back panels with many trapezoidal pleats along the sides - this creates a natural A-line shape without the need for a petticoat. 

Inside is lined with contrasting red fabric for a sleek pop of color when walking.

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. For ironing, please use lowest heat setting or steam out the wrinkles.
