Stay soft and cozy even on the snowiest of days! The Zhu Xue 煮雪 Boiling Snow Ming Dynasty Set is full of cozy accents, thick velvet fabrics, and stunning embroideries. 

Drawing its name from the phrase "the mountain spring boils in the snow, and the bamboo smoke curls up from the pines" - the design is rich in both aesthetic and symbolism.

The outfit incorporates soft, feminine pink and blue hues, with a focus on a bright pink woolen fabric for the vest. This fabric provides a sense of warmth, softness, and comfort, resembling the cozy warmth of sunlight on a cold winter day.

The vest is a classic Ming Dynasty bijia 比甲 (sleeveless vest) made from pink twill wool and fur accents. It features functional pockets for everyday use and is detailed with pink lace and blue embroidered ribbons, creating a harmonious look. Chest patch design contains embroidered magnolia flowers, pine needles, birds, and snowflakes, forming a beautiful winter picture. 

Two adorable pom poms hang down from the Buzi 补子 (chest patch), adding extra movement. Additional embroidered ribbons can be attached beneath the armpits. Two pockets to keep your hands warm!

The liling duanshan 立领短衫 (standing collar top) is made from beige brushed twill, which adds a subtle yet refined look. The pipa sleeves 琵琶袖 (named after the traditional pipa instrument, which has a similar shape) add a touch of gentleness and grace to the garment. Embroidered cuffs mat

Finally, the mamianqun 马面裙 (horse face skirt), a common skirt of the Ming period. Brocades of a lively winter scene, snow capped pine branches, tits (small birds), and falling snowflakes, creating a serene and poetic landscape. Full of auspicious motifs, symbolizing perserverence, purity, longevity, and resilience.

Skirt features a modern addition: buttons & buckles to ensure the panels don't fly up.

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a flat surface or hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. For ironing, please use lowest heat setting or steam out the wrinkles
