Based on artifacts from the Sun Gounü 孙狗女 Tomb in Bijiatan 毕家滩, Gansu province. Constructed true to history, the Hua Hai 花海 Sea of Flowers Set features five brightly colored garments from 4th century fashions!

Patterned and layered shirts called Yaolan Ru 腰襕襦 in traditional Chinese jewel tones, highlighting a special trend from the WeiJin where they would add contrasting fabric along the shoulder seams. Common to style tucked into the skirt or over the skirt for a more comfortable look.

The Poqun 破裙, or "broken skirt" isn't actually broken! It refers to the many strips of fabric pieced together to create the signature striped patterns. The Poqun in this set is uniquely fully reversible with one patterned side and one plain.

Dotted with sun shaped floral patterns all throughout the set, creating a striking effect with every turn. 

A rare treat to see the Liangdang 裲裆, a type of rectangular vest from the 4th to 7th century that was originally used as an undergarment but eventually gained popularity as a decorative garment that would peek out through the crossed collared shirts. The liangdang 裲裆 for this set is brocaded with golden vines with red and blue flowers. 

Also rarely seen- Kuzi 裤子 from the WeiJin Dynasties! Comes with elasticized ankles for comfort and less chances of tripping over the fabric.

Note that Chinese sizes are smaller than US sizes. To avoid wrong sizings, please refer to the sizing chart in the photos. Please measure in centimeters.

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. For ironing, please use lowest heat setting or steam out the wrinkles.
