As the days grow shorter and colder, there's one thing we always look forward to this time of year: modernized hanfu coats! 

The Hou Xue 厚雪 Heavy Snow Trench Coat combines the voluptuous collar styles of the Han Dynasty with a modern trench coat silhouette. Effortlessly chic, and out of this world stylish, make a statement wherever you go with this beauty of a coat. 

Additionally has pockets to keep your hands warm! 

When buttoned, the distinct waist lines are a reference to Han Dynasty robes. Instead of a traditional wide belt, two large buttons are used to keep it snug. Made from a wool blend and slightly shagged, the trench coat is soft and structured.

Looks great opened and buttoned, with a fantastic flowing drape. A versatile piece with many ways to style, choose from a variety of colors to best suit your style! 

 

Additional pieces such as the modernized Song Dynasty trousers (songku, 宋裤) with auspicious tassels and natural wooden beads. Made in the traditional open-crotch construction (with a substantial overlap, don't worry no flashes). 

And finally, the perfect base: the soft and silky Tank Top (diaodai, 吊带) with matching wooden bead detailing. A contemporary take on the historical Song Dynasty undergarment, this is a versatile top to be used as a base for other hanfu ensembles, or to be worn as-is. 

Matching satin ribbon can be used as a belt, choker necklace, or as a hair accessory ~

    • red/black - 50% sheep wool, 50% polyester (medium thickness, softer and more comfortable on bare skin)
    • pink gray - 40% sheep wool, 60% polyester (slightly thicker than red/black, shag hair is slightly longer, not great for direct contact with bare skin, shag may pill with consistent wear, combing through with a small brush fixes the pills)
  • Modernized Song Dynasty Trousers - open crotch pants
    • body - 100% polyester (cotton texture)
    • lining - 68% rayon, 32% polyester (breathable, soft against bare skin) 
  • Moxiong Tank Top 
    • body - 96% polyester, 3% spandex (satin fabric, breathable)
    • lining - 90% rayon, 10% polyester (skin-friendly, no chaffing)

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a flat surface or hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. Dry cleaning ok for the jacket. 

Pants and tank top can be machine washed. Separate lights from darks, laundry bag recommended, lay flat or hang dry. 

Tumble drying damages garments.

Coat is oversized, would recommend ordering your normal size as it can be quite floppy. I am 168cm and ordered the large, and it swallows me like a blanket. I've made it work, but would be a bit smaller. Quality is great, and it's on the thinner side for a wool coat. Better for cold fall and mild winter temps.

This coat is super oversized. The sleeves land almost perfectly on my wrists (I'm 170cm tall and got the L) but kind of swallows my figure when I close the button. I have to find ways of styling the coat so that I don't look like a king pin . The coat keeps me warm in above 13°C weather with a jumper on and a scarf. I have to layer up more for temperatures around 10°C which is great to play around with how big the coat is.
